A vote for Keeners is a vote for youth development and water conservation
Keeners Car Wash has been chosen as one of 15 video finalists in BC Hydro’s Community Champions award program. Five winners will each receive $10,000 – and Keeners needs our support by voting daily from now until December 7.
Keeners Car Wash is a social enterprise mobile car washing service operated by Street Youth Job Action, which offers mentorship and soft-skills training to homeless and at-risk youth. Servicing corporate parking lots and car share services around Metro Vancouver, Keeners’s service is chemical free, uses only a gallon of water per car, and produces no waste water runoff.
Modo has been contracting Keeners to clean 60 to 80 of our cars a month – and we’re delighted with the results!
“We have been really happy with their service,” says Modo fleet director Douglas Dunn, “and their eco-frendly steam system makes our cars look like new.”
Watch their video entry to learn more about this exciting, sustainability oriented social enterprise and the BC Hydro Community Champions prize money will help further Keeners’s work.
