Modo Ambassador Post: Marilyn Monroe and Modo
Modo member Charmaine Niebergall found out in September 2016 that she could use Modo with an N license, bought a driving lesson package with Victoria Driving School, and got her N within a few months. Now, a year and a half later she’s a Modo Ambassador! Join Charmaine as she shares her latest Modo story with us in this guest post!
After a busy, party-filled, vacation-filled, family-filled, and drink-filled December, I wanted a little break from beer, wine and spirits. Dry January has been a fabulous way to kickstart my New Year!
I found out my wonderful friend who is battling breast cancer was having a big costume party to celebrate winning at her first bouts with chemotherapy. What a great way to bring some joy into stormy January! But, doing Dry January, I knew I wouldn’t get to enjoy the lovely beverages. So, instead, I decided to be the designated driver. Why not take the opportunity to drive around in a 2016 Honda Fit with heated seats, backup cameras, and a great sound system with all my friends in costume!
The party theme was “Hollywood.” I took out my white “Marilyn” dress I bought a few Halloweens ago and did the hair and makeup myself. I picked up all my friends who were wearing their Hollywood glam best, and we hit up the party. We had a wonderful time, and danced the night away to all the best Hollywood movie soundtracks and watched videos on a big screen. Think “Dirty Dancing,” “Grease” and of course “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” featuring Ms. Monroe. It was so much fun!
I was happy to be able to offer free rides to those who needed a safe ride home. It was classic west-coast wet-coast weather with a nasty wind too, so the offer for heated seats in a cozy car was appreciated by all! Modo let me have the freedom to be the responsible friend, getting everyone home safe. I am so glad I can be a designated driver by accessing one of the many awesome Modo cars in Victoria.
