How long have you been a Modo member for and what type of membership do you have?

I started as a Monthly member in February 2016 and switched to Modo Plus in March 2018.

What made you want to join Modo?

Living in Mount Pleasant with abundant mobility options, there was no need for me to own a car. To get occasional access to a vehicle for various purposes, I decided to join Modo. I like the vehicle variety Modo has and also the flexibility with crossing the border or the Open Return option.
Being a shareholding member, I love that I have a direct stake in the direction and well-being of the organization and can further support the local economy.

How do you use Modo and what’s your go to vehicle?

I use Modo a lot to go on hiking, camping, and snowboarding trips with friends. Splitting the costs among 4-5 people makes the trip even more affordable, and I never have to worry about insurance or maintenance costs and hassle, compared to owning a car. I have used so many different vehicles on the fleet for different purposes, but my go to is the Hyundai Tucson with snow tires, a roomy 4-wheel-drive SUV that’s great for outdoor adventures.

What was your most memorable Modo trip?

My favorite trip was when we took a Modo to the Rockies for a 5-day hike. That was 10 hours of driving each way. The drive was so beautiful with good company, and there were 4 of us who were Modo drivers which made it easy to share the driving.
