Patrick Nangle – former CEO of Purolator – takes the wheel at Modo
Tech, fleet operations veteran to lead carsharing pioneer
Vancouver, BC (August 10, 2016) – Member-owned carsharing pioneer Modo announces that Patrick Nangle has been named CEO.
Nangle brings to the role over 20 years of executive leadership, with international and Canadian companies focused on technology, mobility, fleet operations and customer service. Most recently he was CEO at Purolator, Canada’s leading integrated freight, parcel and logistics provider.
Modo Board Chair William Azaroff said given Nangle’s background, the decision was an easy one. “I am proud of all Modo has accomplished in its 19 years, and we see a ton of opportunity in front of us in an innovative and evolving landscape,” he said. “Patrick is a proven national leader, with exactly the right experience to keep us out front as we prepare for our next phase of growth and market development.”
The first local carsharing organization of its kind, Modo is known in the industry for its varied fleet, stellar customer service, innovative and widely-used booking software, and unique cooperative business model; things that intrigue Nangle.
“I was drawn by Modo’s strong focus on the member experience, innovation and community, and look forward to continuing the surge forward while creating some strategic partnerships,” he said. “In an environment where housing prices, traffic congestion and land use are significant issues, it’s a welcome opportunity to be part of the solution.”
In addition to personal membership, Modo for Business allows businesses to reduce their transportation-related costs, improve operational efficiency, reduce GHGs and support staff in making more sustainable transportation choices.
Modo provides convenient, reliable and affordable access to the most diverse fleet of
shared vehicles across the Lower Mainland and Victoria. With over 500 sedans, sports cars, trucks, cargo
vans, hybrids and EVs, serving more than 17,000 individual and 400 business members, Modo affords all
the benefits of having a car, without all the hassles and expense of owning one (or two).
