Modo Christmas Tree Hunt Adventures
Blog written by Christian Brandt, Okanagan Regional Fleet Manager
The Christmas season has officially started and even if you don’t celebrate, you’ve most likely seen house decorations pop up around the neighborhood. Or, you’ve patiently listened to Christmas jingles during your weekly grocery shopping routine.
Our family tradition every year is to get a tree with a group of friends and give one of the Charlie Brown trees a home during the Christmas season. Since we don’t own a car, we booked a Modo vehicle for this adventure.
Luckily, Modo recently added its first SUV to the Kelowna fleet, equipped with a ski rack! The ski rack served us very well, doubling as a tree rack so we didn’t have to worry about covering the backseats with a tarp. Even better, no one was cramped in the back with pine needles and sap stuck to their face.
After we booked the vehicle, we grabbed the rest of the family and a car seat for our two-year-old and drove up towards the Myra Canyon Provincial Park where we hiked into the forest to find our tree. Besides the ski rack that came in handy, we also appreciated riding comfortably in a bigger vehicle, equipped with winter tires, heated seats, and even a heated steering wheel to help warm up after the chilly hike.
When we got back to the car, we opened the trunk and had a tasty picnic with new friends & fresh croissants from Sprout Bakery, which the kids enjoyed. Funny enough, since there was no need for the tarp to cover the Christmas Tree, instead we put it under the kids, to make the snack clean up quick & easy!
