Modo’s Got Talent: Farrokh Golpour

As a member owned co-op we put our people first. Our inclusive and fun work culture and social purpose attracts the best, and the most talented. After hearing of so many hidden talents and unique hobbies at staff meetings, we finally decided it is time to share these stories with our members! Each month we will introduce one of our staff members and their secret talent, making Modo the diverse and inspiring workplace we love.

Modo’s Got Talent: Farrokh, Accountant at Modo

Farrokh Golpour, one of our new faces at Modo, is our first staff member to share his talent with us, and surprisingly it doesn’t involve numbers!

Q & A with Modo’s accountant Farrokh Golpour

How long have you been working at Modo?

I had the privilege of joining the Modo family in March 2019.  I love working with such a caring, fun team, who are passionate about living a better life by optimizing environmentally friendly transportation, and contributing to keeping BC beautiful!

What is your secret talent?

My secret talent is making music, singing and playing the guitar (and photography!).

Tell us more!

I was lucky enough to grow up in a family of musicians, where every week we would have gatherings of almost 50 people who sang and danced together. Each family member would have their own performance one week, which is how I dared to start singing in front of an audience. I started singing in a school choir, we won in school and provincial competitions! Little by little I also learned to play Guitar and to sing while I was playing,

My first music video was recorded in Frankfurt and was released on Youtube in 2011. Together with my former colleague Faranak Fakhri I was invited to sing at a summit held in Frankfurt, and performed for a corporate Christmas party, with great feedback.

I had two music tracks that released by the radio station RadioJavan (Persian Online radio)

I am blessed to have lovely wife Dorna who supports me to follow my dreams!

Do you sing while driving?

Yes definitely, I sing while I’m driving and biking but nothing compares to singing in the shower!

Can Modo members see you perform live in the future?

Hopefully at a Modo event, maybe next year’s AGM?

You can also find my music on my Youtube Channel and SoundCloud.
