When will the fuel surcharge be applied?
We track average fuel prices weekly using data from Natural Resources Canada. If prices go over $2.11/L, a small per-kilometre surcharge is added to trips.
Here's how it breaks down:
$2.11 - $2.20/L > $0.01 per km
$2.21 - $2.30/L > $0.02 per km
$2.31 - $2.40/L > $0.03 per km
For example, if gas is $2.11/L, the surcharge would be $0.01 per km.
Electric vehicles don't get a fuel surcharge. That includes: Fully electric cars (like Hyundai Kona EV or Chevy Bolt) & Plug-in hybrids (like Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV)
